The Programmatic SEO Framework We Use to Ship 1000+ Pages Without Slop
A working framework for programmatic SEO — how to build sites at scale that Google actually indexes and ranks, without publishing thin templated junk.
Programmatic SEO is either a superpower or a spam factory
Every couple of years someone declares programmatic SEO dead because a wave of sites got wiped by Google's helpful-content updates. Those sites were spam. Programmatic SEO — when the underlying data is genuine and the template produces real value — remains one of the fastest ways to scale.
The three inputs that separate real programmatic from spam
- Real, verified data source (not scraped or invented)
- Template that produces a genuinely useful page
- Every generated URL answers a real query
- AI-generated filler with no unique insight
- Same page 1000 times with a name swapped
- URLs that don't match real search demand
Our framework — 5 steps
- 1
Find a real repeating pattern
Location × service, product × category, date × event. Pattern must have real search demand you can validate in Search Console or Ahrefs.
- 2
Secure a verified data source
First-party data, government data, or licensed API. Never scraped or invented. Data quality is what makes each page unique.
- 3
Build a template with 3+ real dimensions
Every generated page must reflect at least 3 genuinely-local or genuinely-specific dimensions. Anything less feels templated to Google.
- 4
Add uniqueness overrides
A content override system so the 20% of pages that matter most get hand-written insights — while the remaining 80% still perform.
- 5
Measure, prune, rewrite
Set indexability thresholds. Pages that don't earn traffic in 90 days get rewritten or removed. Discipline > volume.
When programmatic SEO is the wrong choice
- Your product only has 3-10 target pages worth writing about
- Your data source is scraped or synthesised (spammy)
- You don't have engineering support to maintain the template
For small B2B SaaS, programmatic is usually overkill. Write 20 great pages instead.
